Inside Harris Reed’s Iconic Sicilian Wedding:
a safe space of queer love and acceptance
It was such an honor for me to plan this wedding for Harris Reed,
a prominent fashion designer and a creative designer of Nina Ricci, and Eitan Senerman, a CEO of an innovative brand development company. Harris Reed joined Nina Ricci in September 2022, bringing his distinctive vision of gender fluidity and dramatic, couture-inspired designs to this prestigious French brand. So, for me it was also a creative challenge, even if the couple wanted just an intimate celebration for the closest family members and friends.
And so it was…
Wedding Ceremony at Villa Tasca
It was an early summer, warm afternoon and bright Sicilian sun was shimmering through the trees of an ancient garden of Villa Tasca. There, in the middle of the lawn covered with white rose petals, Eitan and Harris were holding their hands as they were pronouncing the most important words of their lives. The ceremony was officiated by Emma Lucy, a close friend and healer of Reed, who has been supporting him with his emotional well-being and anxiety, particularly within the fast-paced world of fashion. Since Senerman is Jewish, they incorporated some Jewish traditions into the event, such as the symbolic act of breaking the glass. "We drew inspiration from a variety of ceremonies and traditions to create a wedding that truly reflected our individual personalities and the modern essence of our love," Reed explained.
"Our Palermo-based wedding planner, Ksenia, was fantastic!
You really need someone to hold your hand in this process. I wanted to bring that full Italian dream into a very queer space", Reed shares
Harris Reed’s gender fluid wedding outfits
Harris Reed designed five distinct looks for his wedding, blending elements of masculinity and femininity: four of them were created by his own brand, with one piece by the Nina Ricci atelier in Paris. Reed aimed to embody a gender-fluid bride, mixing sharp Savile Row-inspired suits with trousers that resembled skirts. For his aisle walk, he wore a sentimental piece from his first collection, repurposing it with a vintage veil. He later changed into a corseted fluid bridal suit, a design he's used for several clients, featuring a seventies-inspired shirt dress and draped trousers. For the dinner, Harris Reed wore a Nina Ricci design inspired by 1930s-1940s archival fashion, embracing his feminine side. He described the look as his "Grace Kelly moment," featuring exposed shoulders, a satin wrap around his arms, and a signature flouncy bow, making him feel both feminine and empowered. For the after-party, Reed referenced his first bridal client, influencer Camille Charriere, by donning a Chantilly lace slip dress with Swarovski and glass bead embroidery. This "naked dress" moment included a high-neck blouse and bootcut trousers, embodying his personal style.

Wedding dinner theme and symbols
Lighting and mysterious atmosphere was very important for Harris, so candles played a central role in this wedding. The setting was simple yet magical: we decided not to use flowers—just candles—to create a serene and intimate atmosphere. This candlelit dinner was inspired by Harris’s childhood memories of creating Victorian and Edwardian-style tablescapes for his dolls' tea parties. “I would set up elaborate tables with white tablecloths and chunky candelabras, so I wanted to recreate that,” he says..
I also prepared a memorable keepsake which served as a place card: a golden animal figurine symbolizing each guest’s personality. This idea was born from a long-running playful joke between Reed, who is a giraffe, and Eitan, who is a shark.
Personalized stationery for the wedding was done by an artist and an illustrator Lukas Palumbo who collaborated with Harris Reed on one of his previous collections. Together, they created elaborate theater sets for Reed’s designs, capturing the essence of the collection through Palumbo's vivid artwork.
Special jewel designed by Harris Reed as gift for dear friends
At last, Eitan and Harris prepared a special precious gift that every guest found on their plate: a golden necklace featuring two hands holding a twisted ring. This piece of jewel was designed by Harris, and its deeper meaning reflects a celebration of self-love, personal expression, and inclusivity.
Reflecting on the wedding day, Harris recalls, "I never imagined I’d have a moment like that. It sounds cliché, but it was far beyond anything I could have imagined, a million times more extraordinary. As a queer person walking down the aisle in an expressive, fabulous outfit with my hair flowing down my back, seeing my husband waiting for me and looking deeply into his eyes was a moment I can’t fully put into words."
For me this wedding was a celebration that captured the essence of love and art, affirming my passion for crafting one-of-a-kind wedding experiences.
