Don Jaime de Bourbon & Lady Charlotte
The Royal Wedding in Sicily
The Royal Wedding of Prince Don Jaime de Bourbon in Palermo, the capital of Sicily, had a very particular meaning to his family: he is the direct descendant of the last Bourbon king of the Kingdom of Two Sicilies. It was a great honor for me to organize these wedding celebrations that lasted three days and involved seven different locations!
The day before the Wedding the couple invited all close family members and their best friends for dinner in Palazzo Alliata di Pietratagliata, one of the oldest and well-preserved private palaces in Palermo. On the following day - September 25, 2021- Prince Don Jaime married Lady Charlotte Lindesay-Bethune in the magnificent Duomo of Monreale, entirely decorated by medieval golden mosaics. The bride arrived in church in an ancient carriage pulled by four white horses. Her wedding gown with a remarkable train and a long-sleeved embroidered bodice, designed by Phillipa Lepley, matched perfectly the location!
After the wedding mass all the guests were invited to the Royal Palace for a reception and speeches, whereas the main wedding dinner took place in Palazzo Mazzarino, another splendid private residence in the heart of Palermo. A famous Sicilian chef Peppe Giuffre' took care of the menu' based on local ingredients and traditional Sicilian cuisine.
The day after the wedding all the guests spent in a relaxed atmosphere of Villa Tasca, where the farewell brunch was organized among the trees of the historic garden.
Here are some photos to show you the atmosphere of these beautiful days, taken by a photographer David Wheeler and his team: Bella West and Anna Vlasiuk.
